Having already delivered a stellar collection of tracks, it’s evident that our decision to include BRÍET as one of our Icelandic ‘5 To Watch‘ this year was a good one. From the atmospheric ‘Dino‘, taken from her debut EP 22.03.99, to the haunting simplicity of ‘Ghosts’ and the bouncy electro sounding ‘Twin’, BRÍET is firmly establishing herself as a performer destined for bigger things. Teaming up with London based collective Black Saint, who themselves are steadily making waves with their self-professed fusion of ‘groove and soul’, the resulting track is as fiery as it is cool. Channelling a laid-back house vibe ‘Day Drinking’ is an up-tempo offering that’s likely to feature loudly at house parties this summer. Speaking about the track, Black Saint states: “Day Drinking is straight summer vibes and we were lucky enough to collaborate with the amazing BRÍET, who is a special talent with an incredible voice. We wanted to make something that was personal and made people feel like they are right there in the scene played out in song. BRÍET smashed it and we’ve been looking forward to sharing this track with the world!” So what are you waiting for – check out the video below, turn it up and enjoy ‘Day Drinking’ (responsibly) now.
