Having already dropped some absolutely scorching tracks this summer, Dagny dials down the tempo with a cover for her latest release, taking on the seminal Fleetwood Mac track, ‘Landslide’.
Following on from the delightful slice of pop that was ‘That Feeling When‘, as well as offering up vocals for The Wombats on ‘Turn’ recently, we find the Norwegian singer in a somewhat more pensive mood as she delivers her version of the oft-covered 1975 classic.
Recorded for use in the American TV show The Bold Type, Dagny’s version of ‘Landslide’ is a smooth, delicate offering. As always, her vocal performance is superb, lifting the track in all the right places and melting away deftly when required. For such a tried-and-tested song, it’s refreshing to hear a new twist, and underlies the talent behind why Dagny has been so successful recently. It’s likely to find her some new fans, both in the US with the success of The Bold Type and here in the UK as fans of Fleetwood Mac discover this version of ‘Landslides’.
