We were thrilled that Wangel helped us kick off a brand new season of Ja Ja Ja Berlin earlier this month, and as we promised, we have more news to share from the talented Danish artist. Having just released his sophomore album Reasons, we are delighted to introduce the accompanying visuals for the latest stunning single ‘Crashed Into A Satellite’.
The video is recorded in one single take in ghostly surroundings at the Bispebjerg Crematorium in Copenhagen, showing the fabolous dance skills from only 14 year old Mads Gronemann – and it complements the wonderfully dark and suggestive song perfectly. Speaking of the video, instructor Tom McKenzie explains; “14-year-old Mads Gronemann is a huge talent, and with Jens Schyth Brøndum’s choreography, it gave me the perfect starting point for expressing fragility, confusion and insufficiency along with some kind of superhuman strength.”
Vocalist Peter Wangel has been open about his bipolar disorder and how he has used music as his medicine. “To fly with the speed of life through the universe and smash into a satellite, only to piece yourself together again. This is the best way to describe my experience dealing with bipolar disorder.”, he says.
The album Reasons including ‘Crashed Into A Satellite’ is out now via Playground Music, so check out the new brilliant track and video below.
