We’ve thought Denmark’s Slowes were ‘Something Special‘ for a while now – so we put them on our 5 Artists To Watch, and then invited them to London to perform at our club night! With the release of their fantastic new track ‘Anymore’, they further prove our esteem to be completely justified.

Massive pop synths, 80s new romantic synths, a catchy chorus, more synths, shoulder-shaking grooves and then just a sprig of synth added as a garnish – ‘Anymore’ is a feast for the ears for fans of addictive retro pop, and if we weren’t already excited for the band’s debut EP, Times, we certainly are now! Speaking to us in their recent interview, singer Jack revealed the track was the product of a particularly brutal break-up, and though we wouldn’t wish heartbreak on anyone, moving on by crafting superb lovelorn pop songs seems like a reasonable course of action to us. You can discover the story behind the track, and more about the band right here, as you get excited about their imminent performance for us in London!

Times is due for release on May 26th via Distiller, and you can check out ‘Anymore’ below. The band join Sweden’s Ruby Empress and Iceland’s Tófa on the bill on Thursday for our latest London Club night, in collaboration with DIY – tickets are a bargainous £5 for Ja Ja Ja Members, so sign up for free right here, and grab your ticket from Billetto and DICE!
