The winners of the Icelandic Music Awards have been revealed, and rapper Emmsjé Gauti sweeps the board!

It’s all about awards ceremonies right now, with Jenny Hval scooping the Phonofile Nordic Music Prize, the Swedish Grammis taking over Stockholm, and now, the Icelandic Music Awards have revealed their winners!

Kaleo, Júníus Meyvant and Samaris all received prizes at the ceremony in Reykjavík on Thursday 2nd March. But if the night belonged to anyone, it was local rapper and lyricist Emmsjé Gauti who won four awards all told, including ‘Best Hip Hop / Rap Album’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year’.

The full list of winners can be found below – and make sure to tune in to an exclusive Nordic Playlist live session, filmed when Emmsjé Gauti performed at the Nordic Playlist Lounge at 2016’s Iceland Airwaves Festival!
