Tipped as one of our Norwegian Ones To Watch in 2017, we’ve been keeping a close eye on their movements of late – and are thrilled to be able to share a brand new track from the band in the form of ‘Monumental’!
The single follows on from previous singles ‘Broken Teenage Heart‘, ‘Summer‘, December’s ‘We Are Trouble‘ and harbours all of the reverb-laden energy that we’ve come to love through their releases so far. Every so often winking in the direction of Teenage Fanclub, the track delivers layer upon layer of textured guitar lines, all propping up vocalist Birgitta Alida Hole’s resonating vocal which sits at the heart of the track – and especially the bold, brazen chorus. Rumour has it that the band’s debut album is set to drop in the Autumn of 2017, and if the singles we’ve heard so far are anything to go by, we’re all in for a fuzz-tinged treat when that day comes.
Strange Hellos are set to appear at Norwegian events Trondheim Calling, by:Larm and Øya Festival in the coming weeks and months, so make sure you head out to catch them – and the meantime, tune in to ‘Monumental’ right here at Ja Ja Ja!
