Today is officially the Day Of Icelandic Music! We’re celebrating by taking a fond look back at some of our own Icelandic favourites – and their own Icelandic musical favourites too!

If you woke up thinking today was just like any other day, then you’re mistaken! OK, OK – we admit it, we nearly missed this one too. Lucky for us, former Nordic Playlist curator, Icelandic music advocate and all-round great guy Ólafur Arnalds was on hand to tell us about it! It’s a pretty simple concept – December 1st is a day to celebrate Icelandic music, and then share your favourites with friends on social media using the hashtag #IcelandMusicDay!

Given the breadth and wealth of fantastic music from Iceland we’d say we’re spoiled for choice, but we thought we’d cast a fond ear back over the Nordic Playlists and favourite tracks of the extremely talented Icelandic aritsts who have shared their own Icelandic favourites as a solid starting point!

Celebrate #IcelandMusicDay with Nordic Playlists from all these fantastic Icelandic artists!
