If Pink Floyd, Justice and Chic ever decided to adopt a kid, Digalaux from Sweden would be it. At least that’s who the band themselves would wish to have as their adoptive music parents, apparently. After being off the radar for a while, the trio behind Digalaux are now back with a first taste of their upcoming album with their single ‘Woman’. A perfect track to celebrate Wednesday and that we’re halfway through the week, beers anyone?
As their name indicates, Digalaux follows one rule, and one rule only: digital and analogue with a French twist. The French influences we hear in the rough production and the dark harmonics blends well together with the melancholic and slightly naïve Swenglish melodies. While listening to ‘Woman’ the band takes you on an electronic journey through some thrilling 80s vibes straight to the electronic styles of the 21st century. According to the band this track is about love and how easy it is to fall for the uncomplicated when you’re searching for the real deal. It’s also a reaction to the irony in how we tend to play a game no one wants to be part of. A game we just don’t seem to be able to quit.
‘Woman’ is the first single of the upcoming album First, which we with excitement can expect sometime in early 2017. The whole album is mastered in Paris together with grammy award winning Antoine “Chab” Chabert who previously worked with big names such as Daft Punk, Kavinsky and Breakbot.
