We’ve featured the monochrome pop of Stockholm producer Mountain Bird, aka Adam Öhman, a number of times in the past, including inviting him to play our London Club Night, and now he’s dropped a new single for us. ‘Circus’ features vocals from Noomi, and Öhman describes it as the “most personal track” he’s ever written.
Noomi’s voice gives ‘Circus’ a lighter air than many previous Mountain Bird singles, bringing it into brighter sonic territory than the dark electro-pop that he explored on his previous single ‘Hearts To Gold‘. Her voice floats delicately over pulsing synths, before a second’s pause lets the song breathe in before an enormous chorus. Combine that with the pitch-perfect production and you’ve got the most straight-to-the-heart pop song Mountain Bird has released yet, a perfect balance between tension and euphoria.
