The victors of the Nordic Music Video Awards 2016 were announced in a ceremony in Oslo last night, where crowds gathered to honour the finest film craftsmanship from the Nordics!
The third edition of the event took place in Cosmopolite in Oslo on the 21st May 2016, and boasted a list of nominees that had created videos for the likes of David Bowie, MØ, Reptile Youth, Ane Brun and more throughout the previous 12 months.
In the run up to the awards show, we caught up with Swedish director Johan Renck to find out more about his close collaboration with the recently departed icon David Bowie, before he went on to win awards for ‘Best Art Direction’ and ‘Music Video of the Year’. We also spoke to rising Danish Director Jonas Bang about his outstanding work on the video for Rangleklods’ 2015 single ‘Schoolgirls’, as well as discussing the relevance of music videos in the modern music world, and how to get spectacular results from tight budgets.
