This week’s Trenda: New Nordic Pop update reveals some exciting Nordic collaborations with international mega stars!
Every Monday we sum up the past week’s most intriguing Nordic releases in the Trenda: New Nordic Pop-playlist on Spotify. This week’s update includes a whole host of exciting new tracks and releases from artists such as Mavrick, Aurora, Miike Snow and Sonny Alven. The latest sounds from the Nordics also include some top-tier international collaborations, this time with artists from Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Over the past few months, Tove Lo has kept an impressive pace when dropping new tracks, and this week she’s back on the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist – TWICE! ‘Desire’, last year’s mega hit from British group Years & Years gets a remake, with Tove Lo taking over vocals, adding to the list of international collaborations from the Swedish pop star. The release is accompanied by a new video as well, which, according to Years & Years singer Olly Alexander, takes a stand on sexual and gender diversity in pop music.
‘Moments’, one of Tove Lo’s own songs, is also included on this week’s update in a remixed version from Norwegian producer and DJ duo Seeb. Seeb are most notable for their tropical house remix of Mike Posner‘s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’, a track that ruled the tail end of 2015 and saw the Norwegian duo and US singer-songwriter conquer the top of the pop charts for several weeks!
And another new addition to this week’s Trenda: New Nordic Pop Playlist comes from Finnish DJ and producer Herman, who teams up with American singer CeeLo Green for his new release called ‘Tonight The World Is Mine’ – a massive track, crowned by CeeLo’s characteristic vocals.
Herman, or Hermanni Kovalainen, is previously known for his work on Finnish productions, including domestic megastars Redrama and Paleface. His recent signing to Dutch dance label Armada has given him a significant boost, and we’re excited to see where this new track will take him!
