After 26 years of playing as a band together, the legendary Swedish rock quartet Kent announced their break up yesterday.

14th March 2016 marked the beginning of the last year for Sweden’s rock band Kent with the release of the single ‘Egoist’ and a striking video directed by Adam Berg. ‘Egoist’ is taken from the bands upcoming twelfth, and final, studio album Då Som Nu För Alltid which is scheduled to be released on the 20th May.

Work on the album started almost a year ago and was recorded in the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York, during a few weeks in November and December 2015. To sum up their successful career, Kent will finally release a Greatest Hits album during the fall, containing the band’s biggest hits but also two new songs – the last two new Kent songs ever.

During fall of 2016 the Swedish four piece will bid farewell to their fans through an extensive Nordic tour, with the band hitting several venues around Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. This farewell tour is the largest arena tour the band has done in many years and it premieres in Linköping, Sweden on September 23rd, with the final concert taking place in Stockholm’s Tele 2 Arena on December 17th.

“This isn’t the end because we have a boring time together, or because we don’t have the desire anymore,” the band states on their website. “This is the end because the best of all of yesterday’s and tomorrow’s parties hold a farewell in themselves.”

Hej då Kent, och tack för allt!
Goodbye Kent, and thank you for everything!
