As we’ve pointed out previously on the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist, Nordic artists are experts in making smash hits with international collaborators!

Every week we update the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist with the hottest new music from the Nordic region. More often than not, exciting collaborations can be found within the playlist, such as Finnish DJ Herman teaming up with CeeLo Green, or Tove Lo featuring on Coldplay‘s latest record. This week, we can add four new tracks to this already impressive list… Tune in to the hottest new tracks on the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist! Tove Lo is back! Again! Yes, she’s had quite a few tracks out lately, such as the first song from the soundtrack to the next movie in the Divergent film series or the remake of Years & Years ‘Desire’. As we await a solo follow up to the colossally successful album Queen of the Clouds, Tove Lo reveals yet another huge feature, this time on Nick Jonas‘s smouldering R’n’B ballad ‘Close’! Last week saw the release of Elliphant‘s debut album, titled Living Life Golden. There has been a steady stream of songs from it released in the last few months, but she has still managed to save some gems for the album itself. For this week’s update of the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist, we’ve picked a collaboration with Major Lazer, who, after the phenomenal success of ‘Lean On’ with last year, team up with another Nordic pop star! California’s Big Wild had something of a hit with their original instrumental version of ‘Aftergold’ a tribally inflected glitch hop summer banger. Now the record has been picked up for a proper release, and with added top line melody and lyrics from Tove Styrke, who was chosen for the feature spot. The song’s audience has greeted the new version of the song with big love, and the track is off to a great start, clocking up over 200,000 streams on Spotify since Friday! Another Nordic artist who goes the distance to find the perfect collaborators is Finnish producer (and one of our Trenda ones to watch for 2016) Lenno, who dropped his debut EP, Good Thing on Friday. For the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist we’ve chosen the track ‘Better With You’ and this time, it’s a Californian double team as Lenno teams up with fellow Nu-Disco acolytes Bee’s Knees and similarly minded Monogem for a steamy, feel good, electro-funk jam.
