Band of Gold win the Phonofile Nordic Music Prize 2016! 

The Phonofile Nordic Music Prize returned to by:Larm Festival this year to honour the best Nordic album of 2015 in a special prize-giving ceremony. Previous years have seen the likes of First Aid Kit, Jonsi and The Knife take the award home, and the latest winner was announced as Norway’s Band of Gold on the 3rd March 2016!

In a ceremony on the first night of by:Larm Festival in Oslo, Band of Gold were awarded the sixth edition of the Phonofile Nordic Music Prize in honour of their 2015 self-titled album. Honourable mentions were also given to Sweden’s Anna Von Hausswolff and Finland’s Jaakko Eino Kalevi announced by last year’s winner, Finland’s Mirel Wagner.

The prize winner was selected an international jury comprising of Jude Rodgers (The Guardian), Stuart Maconie (BBC), Laurence Bell (Domino Records), Jonathan Galkin (DFA Records) and Jeannette Lee (Rough Trade) and the prize was given out by Norwegian Game Of Thrones star, Kristofer Hivju.
