The Nordic music scene is blowing up with exciting new music and each week, we update the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist with all of the releases you can’t afford to miss!
Kicking off the playlist this week is Tove Lo, who’s new track ‘Scars’ is the first song to be released from the soundtrack to the Divergent Series: Allegiant movie, coming out in March. We’re already completely besotted with this track, so find out more about it and Tove Lo’s silver-screen-soundtrack writing antics right here.
Iceland’s Vök, currently embarking on their first European headline tour, have released a brand new track entitled ‘Waiting’ – something we’ve been keenly doing since the release of their epic 2015 EP Circles. For a taste of what this Icelandic three piece will be bringing to Europe’s lucky audiences, check out their performance from the Nordic Playlist Radio Bar at by:Larm, which took place almost exactly a year ago!
Finland’s Møtions are back with a new release called ‘Paint the Sky’, and a promise that Spring’s arrival is imminent. The track is the follow up to their single ‘Flow’ from 2015, and again the duo are entrusting singer Kasii with vocal duties, just as they did on their previous hit. We listed Møtions as a Nordic newcomer to watch in 2016, and we’re certainly not disappointed!
Sweden’s Miike Snow follow up on this winter’s previous singles ‘Heart is Full’ and ‘Genghis Khan’ with ‘The Heart of Me’ – a tune just as catchy and flawlessly performed as the previous releases, and with an even more straight forward pop attitude on the production side. The new album iii is set to be released on the 4th of March and we just can’t wait to sample more of Miike Snow’s irresistible smooth pop!
