The Raveonettes

The Raveonettes announce details of their Rave-Sound-Of-The-Month project, and reveal the first track!

Unveiling their first new music since the 2014 surprise release of their seventh studio album Pe’ahi, The Raveonettes are back with not just a new song, but with an ambitious new project that promises to bring new music from the Danish duo on a monthly basis for the rest of 2016!

Battling the traditional album format, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo will produce what they’re labelling an “anti-album”, a collection of tracks that will arrive one by one for the next 12 months, rather than in the regular 12 track lump. And today, we get to hear the very first track from the collection – an 80’s glancing, electro-based track entitled ‘This World is Empty (Without You)’.

Of the track, the band’s Sune Rose Wagner states:

“Writing a simple song’s super hard and challenging so it took a while for this one to be just right. The music, the words, the vibe, everything has to be just perfect. It’s one of the only songs I’ve ever written where adding a guitar simply didn’t work, not sure why, just happens I guess. The beat is my take on an 80’s Freestyle beat à la Debbie Deb, and the overall vibe of the song is much darker for sure…”
