The first 2016 additions to the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist have arrived!

The New Year is off to a flying start as new Nordic tracks arrive to guide us into a whole new era of pop music! This week, the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist grew by 20 songs, including tracks by Mads Langer, Lemaitre, CHINAH, Mapei, so in order to get regular updates about the hottest new Nordic pop hits, we recommend you ‘Follow’ the playlist, stat!

Previous Nordic Playlist curators Lemaitre unveiled a brand new track entitled ‘Stepping Stone’ just last Friday, a follow-up to their breakthrough hit ‘Closer’ from last year! It’s a track you don’t want to miss, so make sure to tune in to this Norwegian pair who are heading up the Trenda: New Nordic Pop playlist this week!

Three Nordic producers who significantly cranked up their listen-counts over the holidays are John De Sohn , Hedegaard Axwell ^ Ingrosso, who each dropped a track on the biggest party night of the year, New Year’s Eve! Sweden’s John De Sohn released ‘Happy Hours’ together with Sigrid Bernson as a farewell to 2015 and to chime in 2016, and the single has been streamed in excess of 300,000 times since.

Copenhagen’s Rasmus Hedegaard, previously known for producing several big Danish acts (Lukas Graham, to mention but one), released ‘Shake the Ground’ on the last day of 2015, followed by Sweden’s Axwell ^ Ingrosso whose latest single ‘Dream Bigger’ mirrored the fever of the party animals celebrating New Year’s around the world. Less than two weeks on, and the song has already notched un more than a million listens – an energy-packed soundtrack to kick off the year.
