New Nordic music oracle Ja Ja Ja has revealed its ‘Ones To Watch‘ for 2016!
Every January, Ja Ja Ja kicks off the year with a carefully selected list of artists that they highly recommend you to check out. These can be artists that are set to release new music imminently, artists that rounded off last year leaving us avidly awaiting more or simply musicians that have high hopes of big things in the New Year!
Selecting 5 of such artists from each of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, Ja Ja Ja has compiled a carefully picked list of 25 fantastic new artists for you to check out, as well as creating a Spotify playlist where you can hear each of them in their element.
As well as being an online source for the finest new Nordic music, Ja Ja Ja hosts monthly club nights in London, Berlin and Hamburg, and has a very special show taking place in Vienna on Friday 29th January with Júníus Meyvant, The Scenes, Farao and KIll-J all set to perform!

Denmark has become a hotbed for the creation of confrontational pop, as well as sultry, addictive electronica and some ferociously fierce hip hop in recent years. And 2016 is looking to continue very much in the same vein, offering up a whole new class of striking and exciting artists for us to discover!
Among Ja Ja Ja’s Danish tips for 2016 are brand new vocalist Soleima, who dazzled and bewitched with her debut single ‘My Boi’ in the summer of 2015. Also selected are unstoppable rockers Liss whose first track ‘Try’ hinted at great future things to come, and made the group one of the most hotly tipped going in to the New Year.

2015 was an exceptional year for new music from Norway, and if Ja Ja Ja’s selections here are anything to go by, 2016 is set to be just as good (dare we say better?!) Rising artist Gundelach conquered the rear end of last year with his hypnotic single ‘Spiders’, and if you haven’t heard Astrid S‘s single ‘2AM’ or the multi-million-streamed remix from Matoma, then we really don’t know where you’ve been hiding.
Pop hits and indie anthems are predicted to be the name of the game for Sweden in 2016, with artists such as burgeoning pop stars Maja Francis and Toxe set to take over 2016’s airwaves, and outfits such as Tussilago, Pale Honey and Pinemen all promising grand and exciting things for the New Year!
