Record-breaking Norwegian outfit Highasakite return with a brand new song, and a first taste of what their upcoming sophomore album has in store!
Hints were dropped about fresh music from the band earlier this week, when a new black and white photo of the band’s vocalist Ingrid Helene Håvik appeared on the band’s social media (taken by iconic Norwegian photographer and previous Nordic Playlist curator Stian Andersen). And now, we’re very pleased to share the news that a new single has landed – a stunning glimpse of what the band’s upcoming album will hold!
We caught up with the band not so long ago, inviting them to curate their very own Nordic Playlist and to reveal more about life in one of Norway’s most loved bands. Since then, the group have toured the world alongside the likes of Of Monsters & Men and been busily smashing records in their home country, with their sublime record Silent Treatment having sat solidly within Norway’s top 40 album chart for a staggering 94 consecutive weeks!
Now, that’s obviously a lot for a new album to live up to, so rather than focus on that, let’s pay close attention to the brand new single that the band have freshly unveiled, a steady paced, hypnotic number entitled ‘Someone Who’ll Get It’.
With charging drums and haunting echoes of soaring chants, this track is an inviting taste of the new music to come from Highasakite, hinting that the passion and intensity that flows throughout their live shows is set to become a central staple of the new record, as they take their music in an ever more progressive direction.
The single will be released through Propeller Recordings on the 29th January, and we promise to keep you up to date with all of the band’s latest news as and when it arrives.
