The land of fire and ice is currently being overtaken by a musical phenomenon known as Iceland Airwaves – the perfect festival mix of a stunning, vibrant city combined with excellent music from some of the most prominent live bands out there.
The festival is centred in Reykjavík with over 200 artists playing in 10 venues over 4 days. Needless to say that the city’s a bit busier than usual, but our friends at KEXP are making sure that everyone at home can experience a taste of Iceland too…
Seattle based radio station KEXP has journeyed to Iceland Airwaves where they’re broadcasting live sessions from KEX Hostel in downtown Reykjavík! KEXP is live-streaming performances through to Sunday (including special shows from previous Nordic Playlist curators GusGus and Sóley!), which means that you can see some of the great festival gigs as if you were there in person, and keep an eye and ear on what’s happening!
Their schedule is as follows:
Thursday, November 5th
2pm / 5pm GMT – Úlfur Eldjárn [ICE]
4pm / 7pm GMT – Júníus Meyvant [ICE]
