Malmö four-piece This Is Head are readying their upcoming third and self-titled album at the moment, and have been releasing a steady stream of singles in the form of ‘Timmerdalen’, ‘People’ and most recently, ‘Natten’. Now they’ve unveiled the video for the latest album track to get an airing, ‘Beginning’.
‘Beginning’ is so loaded with chillwave ambience that it lures the listener completely into its headspace, with only a needling synth line to cut through the foggy atmospherics. Labelmate Alice Boman was recruited to add a spacey vocal, which only adds to the song’s airy grace. Her presence was also influential on the video concept, as she recorded her vocal during a meal with the band in LA. The video, directed by band member Henric Claesson, is crafted from woozy images and footage from both LA and the Timmerdalen studio where the band did most of the recording for the album. This Is Head’s self-titled third album will be released on September 2nd via Adrian Recordings.
