Opening another door in our musical advent calendar, Röyksopp have released the official video for the first track ‘Skulls’ from their new album The Inevitable End. With all the attributes of Röyksopp’s wonderful robot rock, the track is more mellow winter ballad than dance tune, with all the gloom and darkness of a cold winter night.
Director Stian Andersen made the black and white video, which follows a group of people setting up in an abandoned house in a forest. There are a lot of flash lights, fog and dancing involved, and it all ends up in two mysterious cape-wearing figures seemingly exhaling a sharp, scratching bass drone. It all sounds like the beginning of a promising horror film.
