A music video doesn’t always have to be a huge production, almost overshadowing the actual song. Sometimes it’s enough to create visual art that just opens up the music in a new way.

‘One of Those Nights’ by Iceland’s folky singer-songwriter Lay Low already appeared on the album Talking About the Weather on Icelandic label Record Records earlier this year, but we didn’t get a video until now. Why? While back home in Iceland, Lay Low a.k.a. Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnadottir recorded the footage and decided to complete her work of  art that is ‘One of Those Nights’ with a beautiful combination of images and film. Sometimes, just keep it simple.

While you’re at it (and done enjoying the video), don’t miss out on the track ‘Our Conversations‘, taken from the same album. Also, Lay Low just announced a European tour with Ásgeir, including UK shows in London (tickets), Bristol (tickets) and Brighton (tickets). So yeah, I think that should satisfy your need for high quality Icelandic folk tunes.
