The Knife have always made a point of pushing boundaries and challenging their listeners through music, but their latest project is possibly their most overtly challenging yet. Working with art group Ful and Nasim Aghili, the group are contributing to Europa Europa, a project described as a “political activist cabaret”. Combining music and dance, the project focuses on migration politics in Europe, and is due to premier in Sweden on July 1st.
Sharing a new video as a preview for the show, ‘För Alla Namn Vi Inte Får Använda’ features new music from the Knife alongside a dance routine starring a number of women, men and children. Choreographed by Dom Dugliga, it is described as a ‘political macarena’, which viewers are encouraged to learn and dance along with the show during its summer run in Sweden.
