Finland’s Manna has been keeping herself busy since the release of Shackles a few years back by singing with Nordic Music Prize nominees Kerkko Koskinen Kollektiivi, but returns with ‘Troublebirds’, the first track to be taken from a new solo album due in autumn via Soliti Music.
On ‘Troublebirds’ a stark and subtle arrangement is used to showcase Manna’s stunning singing voice, which means you can’t help getting drawn into the lyrics and raw emotion of the song. Similarly, the video also has Manna herself as the focal point with few other distractions, but with such a sparse musical arrangement a sparse video is exactly the accompaniment you’d want.
