It’s a whole lotta Norway this week when Motorpsycho, Jenny Hval and Deathcrush all head to the UK!
Sweden’s also well represented with three shows from Icona Pop at the O2 Arena and a performance from Jonas Rathsman set to take place at XOYO. Scroll down to read more about which Nordic artists are heading to the UK over the next 7 days!
Tue 27th May – Jenny Hval w/ Swans – Electric, Brixton, London – Tickets
Norway’s on a roll and is also sending Jenny Hval London’s way! The Nordic equivalent to PJ Harvey is going to land at the Electric Brixton together with the revived Swans on 27th May! After crossing the US back and forth Jenny is now touring the UK and will be back in London already on the 3rd June. Catch both shows and make sure to see all sides of this multi-faceted performer!
Tue 27th, Wed 28th, Fri 30th – Icona Pop w/ Katy Perry – O2 Arena – Tickets
US megastar Katy Perry is ending the UK leg of her Prismatic World Tour at the O2 Arena and Stockholm’s Icona Pop have been invited along for the ride! The duo has been touring the UK together with Katy Perry throughout May and are now celebrating with no less than three shows in London on 27th, 28th and 30th May. If you want to get your monthly dose of over-the-top-pop madness, then get your tickets now, there’s only a few left!
Wed 28th May – Deathcrush w/ White Denim – O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London – Tickets
Norway’s noise rock trio Deathcrush have been touring the UK ever since The Great Escape festival a few weeks back together with the guys in White Denim. With a string of sold out shows already behind them, we don’t see any reason why their last stop at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 28th of May would be any different! So buckle up and get ready for some sludgy northern up-tempo fuzz!
Wed 28th May – Motorpsycho – The Jazz Café, London – Tickets
Norway’s Motorpsycho are bringing their raw prog rock to The Jazz Café on the 28th May. Their latest and 17th album, Behind the Sun, is classic Motorpsycho: heavy duty alt rock with twisted time patterns mixed up with some stoner and jazz, a combination that –when played by these guys – makes perfect sense. Add some roaring vocals and epic melodies to that and it’s a combination you don’t want to miss!
Thu 29th May – Malin Andersson w/ others – Sebright Arms, London – Tickets
Swedish singer-songwriter Malin Andersson will be performing at the Sebright Arms on 29th May at the release party for Elliot Porter’s EP. If you go out in London a lot, there’s a chance you’ll have seen Malin around; this London-based artist is an active performer, and she’s been playing around town for the whole year!
Fri 30th May – Jonas Rathsman w/ Duke Dumont – XOYO, London – Tickets
The UK-based Gothenburgian Jonas Rathsman will be playing at XOYO together with Duke Dumont! This very busy DJ/procuder is stopping by on Friday 30th before continuing further into Europe and the US.
