When he’s not on duty as half of Montauk,Victor Holmberg makes music under the guise of 1987. Like his moniker suggests, his music is fuelled by sweet synthesizers and a touch of nostalgia but with a peppery contemporary edge.
‘Michelle’ follows a series of excellent remixes for the likes of Lucas Nord, Alice Boman and Postiljonen, as well as his own alt-R&B offering ‘Ocean’. On ‘Michelle’ we find Victor seemingly in a wistful mood, perfect for the long daylight hours of early summer; soft synths and muted bass guide us into a more uptempo conclusion, like the flutter of a brand new crush, poised to elevate you to the heavens or tear you apart.
