Everybody knows that there is something magical about live music. Still, capturing the vibe, the audience’s enthusiasm and the musicians performance can be hard. That is why Sondre Lerche was nervous when he opened a file from his sound technician Erik Freding containing recordings of a concert he did at Hulen in Bergen in February. However, it turned out to be the first time he ever felt enthusiastic about a recording from one of his own shows.
The recordings, done without the band knowing, has now been releases as a ten-track album. Bootlegs was released earlier this month, and last week the video for ‘When The River’ came out. Michael Angeles has captured Lerche and his band in action at this year’s Øya festival, which is confusingly enough not where the track was recorded. Anyway, it is a beautiful video so check it out:
